Steve is one of the best known comedy faces in Britain, having starred in nearly 30 ‘Gold Spot’ commercials for Orange alongside some of the most well known names in movies. He was a regular supporting actor all three seasons of the hugely successful Little Britain with Matt Lucas and David Walliams. As his alter-ego Lenny Beige, Steve wrote and starred in The Lenny Beige Television Show on Channel 4 and 2 series of The Lenny Beige Variety Pack for BBC. He still continues to appear as Beige and recently performed with Tom Meighan from Kasabian, Ricky Wilson from the Kaiser Chiefs and David Arnold.

He began his career as a writer for Chris Evans at BSB before embarking on a stand-up career in the early 90s. In 1993 he was runner up in the legendary So You Think You’re Funny competition in Edinburgh. After running a string of successful nightclubs including The Double Six Club, The Youth Club and The Regency Rooms Lenny Beige was born.

Hanging up the Beige wig in 2000 Steve began to concentrate on acting. His television credits include; Rock Profiles (BBC), My Dad’s The Prime Minister (BBC), M.I High (BBC), Bodies (BBC), Annually Retentive (BBC), Armstrong & Miller (C4), Absolute Power (BBC), Catterick (BBC), Massive (BBC), The Bill (ITV), Born and Bred (BBC), Wuthering Heights (ITV). Steve is currently appearing as the wizard Manitol for BBC1 and CBBC in The Legend of Dick and Dom.

He has recorded 3 series of the hit show and there is hope for a fourth series in 2012.

His film credits include; How It’s Done, The Piano Tuner, The Clap, Graham and Alice, Medium Rare, St Trinians and St Trinian’s II, Malice in Wonderland and the forthcoming Noel Clarke film The Knot.

In addition to a host of radio credits he has written the book The History of Radio Comedy for Virign and has contributed to many TV shows as a panelist. He is still a regular on The Wright Stuff (Channel 5).



On the stage Steve appeared in the hit version of 12 Angry Men at the Edinburgh Festival, and he has written and toured several one man character shows including Behind the Net Curtains and Celebrity Squares. In 2007 he appeared as Beastly Boris in the Barbican’s production of Jack and the Beanstalk in London and last year as Smee in Peter Pan in Hastings. In 2010 Steve starred alongside Michael Brandon in Wet Weather Cover a brand new play at The King’s Head in Islington which sold out before transferring to the Arts Theatre in the West End. In the summer of 2011 Steve is playing Hymie Kossoff in Chicken Soup With Barley at the Royal Court.
