And so Edinburgh has come and gone. This year Steve's brand new show
Behind The Net Curtains did fantastic business selling out and getting some great reviews. After a quiet September of recuperation it is back to work. Steve is starring in a new Radio 4 sitcom called
Clement Doesn't Live Here Anymore about a repellent fat ghost (played by the lovely and fantastic Richard Ridings). It is being aired from November in the 11.30 am slot. He is also featuring in two episodes of Trapped written by Mark and Dan Maier and these go out over the festive season, also on Radio 4. On November 20th Steve has a guest role in the superb medical drama Bodies on BBC3 and then on BBC2 the week after. He also begins a new series of The Late Edition for BBC4 (with a BBC2 repeat sometime in the near future) on 10th November for 6 shows with another 7 shows from January 13th 2006.
He is looking to act alongside his Orange ad partner, the actor Brennan Brown, in a new play about an American actor and British actor trapped in a Winnebago on a film set in Spain. There is talk of Edinburgh and beyond.
In addition acting he is developing a new comedy drama about 2 stay at home dads who feel trapped in their emasculated roles.
He recently bought a Honda Accord Tourer and says the petrol consumption is excellent on the open road and despite a pull to the left, it drives like a dream.
July 2005
Steve's 10th one-man show 'Behind the Net Curtains' (see
flyer for details) is previewing in London before opening in Edinburgh at the Assembly Rooms. It runs for the entire festival at 8.45pm nightly. During the festival Steve guest stars in Born and Bred (episode 10 of the 4th series) and in one scene is completely naked on a bridge.
He has just finished filming the last episode in the second series of Jed Mecurio's fantastic medical drama 'Bodies' which is on our screens from September on BBC3 and BBC2. On a rather more frivolous note he is taking part in Stars and Fast Cars for the BBC racing against the mighty Charlie Dimmock amongst others. Well why else would anyone want to get into the business?
This autumn a second series of The Late Edition is due to start a run of 13 shows. The first series was shown only on BBC4 and the new series should get a BBC2 repeat.
Any more news will be posted here on a monthly basis, so keep looking.
